Oxford, UK singer-songwriter Rosie Shaw releases compelling new single ahead of upcoming debut EP.

This past Friday (7 August 2020), indie up-and-comer Rosie Shaw turned heads with her newest single, "Temporary Love." The otherworldly new tune depicts the mesmerizing yet fleeting nature of young love, while capturing the listener in her profoundly layered sound, leading up to the release of her debut EP in September.

Following up her 2019 debut single "Trust Issues" and July's aptly named sophomore single "Summer Doesn't Feel the Same," Shaw's latest track allows her to dive even deeper into her lush sound. "Temporary Love" creates a vast universe of soaring vocals, cosmic melodies, and alluring guitar, all culminating in a swelling, unforgettable chorus.

The enthralling atmosphere of the song effortlessly reflects its lyrical content, as Shaw weaves a story of being young and just wanting to feel loved, as she confesses, "I'm wearing your t-shirt just to feel closer to someone / I think that's the problem, I don't want you more than anyone else does." The personable feeling with which Shaw delivers these lines gives a warm element of intimacy to a song that's instrumentally larger than life.

Through this dreamy new single, Rosie Shaw might paint a picture of a relationship that happens to be temporary, but she forges a sound that will stick with you for a long time to come. And if you can't wait to hear more, be sure to keep your eye out for her debut EP next month.
