Minneapolis indie pop five-piece Early Eyes drop introspective new single "Drawing Myself."

Four years ago, Early Eyes formed just to play a single show at a Minnesota college. Now, what was once a temporary hobby has forged a soulful, catchy, and thoughtful sound that will certainly leave a long-lasting impression. Recently signed to Epitaph Records, the band has been putting out a string of stunning new singles, with "Drawing Myself" as their latest (out 11 August 2020).

This melancholy, self-reflective track is just right for this time of year. Through a wistful melody, vocalist Jake Berglove paints a picture of a late-night road trip, wondering how "Something about this quiet is so patient." This idea of stillness and patience is something so relevant to the distinct pensive feeling that comes with the change of seasons: the feeling of being in between experiences, being on the edge of something new, and feeling a need to reflect upon it all in order to move forward.

Decorated by subtly danceable guitar, this new single keeps the band's signature sound of vibrantly fun indie pop alive as ever. But in tune with the feelings created by the lyrics, the band also uses a swaying tempo and contemplative synths to hold the listener mesmerized in the nostalgic atmosphere.

"Drawing Myself" is now the fourth single the band has released through Epitaph, following "Clarity," "Marigolds," and "I'm Enough." After these successful singles, here's hoping that a new EP or album will be on the way soon. Until then, soak up these last few weeks of summer with "Drawing Myself."
