Beloved indie popper Will Joseph Cook announces sophomore album, creating anticipation with new single "Something to Feel Good About."

After capturing our hearts with his effortless, summery brand of indie pop since 2015, Will Joseph Cook has finally announced his highly anticipated sophomore album, Something to Feel Good About, to be released 27 November 2020. In excitement for the new record, the British singer-songwriter released the title track last week (12 August 2020). 

Featuring all of the same loveable, gooey romance you might recognize from his debut album Sweet Dreamer or his standout EP You Jump I Run, "Something to Feel Good About" is a carefree celebration of being there for the person you love. This new single unabashedly embraces optimism, through its unforgettable ear-worm chorus, playful instrumentals, and irresistibly mellow atmosphere, narrating the blissful state of feeling like you can throw all your problems away just because you're in love.

However, Cook keeps a distinct awareness of the overwhelming state of the world in the back of his mind, as he reassures his lover, "You don't have to be happy." But ultimately, he uses this song to highlight the importance of being that person your loved one can lean on, the person who they can trust to always give them hope, "even when it rains." And just to keep things from getting too overdone, Cook's easy-going delivery of these lines helps to balance out the overtness of his romanticism, giving the track a sense of natural, down-to-earth positivity. 

Something to Feel Good About will mark Will Joseph Cook's first album released by his very own independent label, Bad Hotel. This will have allowed more creativity and honesty in Cook's songwriting, which will make for a very exciting artistic journey to follow throughout the record. And if the other tracks sound anything like this one, then we're in for exactly the bright, promising release that 2020 needs.
