Oklahoma trio releases a vibrant second single of the year, "Falling".

Since 2015, Zach Shomaker (lead vocals, guitar, synth), Kole McLaren (guitar, backing vocals, synth), and Joshua Warren (drums, bass) have been creating sun-kissed indie pop as Cavern Company. The Oklahoma City band attracted attention last year with the release of their glistening EP, Tension. This year, rather than releasing another EP or an album, the three-piece are releasing a series of four singles, in hopes of better reaching their fans. After the March release of the first single "Body Language", the group returns today with "Falling".

Set to be the soundtrack to your summer, "Falling" is a bright, energetic, beachside anthem. Detailing frontman Shomaker's experience with unexpected love, the song has a sweet meaning that's easy to get behind. The vocalist explains, "The pre chorus, 'I'm not ready but we've already started, I'm not ready but we're already falling', was the perfect summation of my feelings during a relationship that started in my late teens. The song explores memories of newfound love while also speaking to the apprehension that I and I'm sure many others have felt."

The song is about love coming at a time when it's least expected, and when you might not be ready for it, but Shomaker says that this experience was worth it: "In this particular story I learned that both the apprehension and the rapture of love can exist together and can turn into something much more profound." Blissful synths, groovy guitar work, and a euphoric chorus capture the happy innocence of experiencing a love like never before.
