No matter who you are or where you're from, music is something that connects everyone. For Canadian rockers Le Trouble, a love for music and a lack of care for what anyone thinks is why they do what they do. The band just released their record, Making Matters Worse, last month, with the strong album opener, "How Was I to Know", as the third single. Quick percussion, striking guitar lines, and anthemic vocals create danceable indie rock gold.

Le Trouble are a five-piece band based in Montreal, QC, consisting of Michael Mooney, Garrett Dougherty, Bao-Khanh Nguyen, Maxime Veilleux, and Jesse Gnaedinger. Their sound is built upon the honesty of writing music for themselves, rather than to reach stardom. Driven by a desire to release emotion and a genuine love for creating, Le Trouble are really what music is all about.

Sometimes, you find a song that's exactly what you needed. "How Was I to Know" is gripping right from the start with firm percussion and The Strokes-like guitar lines, making an unbelievably fun track. Meanwhile, vocalist Michael Mooney captivatingly sings about how "Love would take its toll" and "I'd have bet I honestly believed / We'd make it", with a voice that begs to be heard. This idea of moving on and the destructive release that comes with it is reflected in the song's urgent energy. "How Was I to Know" is not your everyday break-up song. It's a rowdy, catchy anthem of realization and making the most of what you're given. This song is just right for anyone coping with a hard time.
